| 2013 | Cosponsored and voted for the Employment Non-Discrimination Act |
| 2014 | Introduced the Restore Honor to Service Members Act to allow LGBTQ members discharged under DADT to have records corrected to reflect their service |
| 2015 | Co-sponsored the Equality Act to protect LGBTQ people from discrimination nationwide |
| 2016 | Secured national monument status for the Stonewall InnCosponsored the Real Education for Healthy Youth Act to ensure LGBTQ-inclusive sex education |
| 2017 | Fought Trump’s transgender ban with legislation to allow transgender service members to serve openly |
| 2018 | Cosponsored the Student Non-Discrimination Act to protect LGBTQ students from bullying, harassment, and discrimination |
| 2019 | Earned her first presidential endorsement from the Stonewall Caucus chair of the Iowa Democratic Party
